Start at the Gatefront Site of Grace and attack enemy opponents using either an arrow (or spell, although both must hit at long range). Rest afterwards before repeating.
Dragons
An Elden Ring dragon can be an exceptional source of Runes, particularly early on. Rest at the Site of Grace after each cycle before returning back and repeating it; melee builds may also find this method effective with practice and some luck!
